Acer palmatum ‘Dissectum’ is an elegant, low-growing Japanese maple admired for its graceful, mound-forming habit and finely dissected, deeply cut foliage. Its delicate leaves emerge green in spring before developing warm shades of yellow, orange and red in autumn, creating a beautiful seasonal display. This deciduous shrub typically reaches around 1.5 to 2.5 metres in height and spread, making it ideal for smaller gardens, Japanese-style planting schemes, containers, or as a striking focal point. It thrives in moist but well-drained soil and prefers a sheltered position in full sun or partial shade, where its attractive foliage can be protected from harsh winds.
