Plant Care

Autumn Reed Grass is remarkably low-maintenance and disease-resistant. Cut back old foliage to 6 inches above ground in late winter or early spring before new growth emerges. Division is rarely necessary but can be done every 4-5 years if desired. This grass tolerates urban conditions well and remains upright even after rain or snow.

Planting Instructions

Plant in spring or early fall, spacing plants 2-3 feet apart. Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball and at the same depth. Position the plant at the same level it was growing in the container, backfill with soil, and water thoroughly. Apply a layer of mulch around the base, keeping it away from the crown of the plant.
