Bloodgood Japanese Maple Tree The Most Iconic Maple in American Gardens

Few trees are as instantly recognizable or as universally beloved as the Bloodgood Japanese Maple. Its deep purple-red leaves emerge in spring and hold their rich color through the entire growing season, before igniting in brilliant crimson and scarlet come fall. Elegant, architectural, and surprisingly easy to grow, this is the tree that anchors a landscape and defines a garden’s character.

Why Gardeners Choose the Bloodgood

• Season-Long Color: Deep purple-red foliage from spring through summer no fading, no guesswork. Transitions to vivid red and scarlet in fall.
• Classic Upright Form: Grows to a graceful 1520 ft. with a naturally layered, vase-shaped canopy that adds structure to any landscape.
• Low Maintenance: Adaptable to a range of soils, requires minimal pruning, and is naturally resistant to most pests and diseases.
• Versatile Placement: Works as a standalone specimen, a courtyard focal point, a patio tree, or a layered accent in mixed borders.
• Premium Planter Option: Pair with a Mexia planter in Green, Grey, or Black for a polished, ready-to-display presentation.
