An Elegant Floral Carpet for Your Garden

Blue flax seeds (Linum perenne), offered by the OSC seed company.

Blue flax is a short-lived perennial, prized for its charming 1-inch sky-blue flowers that adorn finely textured foliage. Growing to 10 to 12 inches tall, and sometimes up to 24 inches, this plant is ideal for alpine or rock gardens. Hardy to zone 5 (sometimes zone 4 with protection), it is ideal for light soils in full sun.

Spread: Up to 30 cm.
Plant height: 25 to 60 cm.
Quantity per pack: Approx 350 seeds/pkt.
Companion plants: Gypsophila, bellflowers, euphorbias.
Enemy plants: Plants requiring heavy clay soils.

How to Grow:

Direct seeding is recommended, as flax does not graft well. Sow from mid-April to late June, covering the seeds lightly with soil. Water regularly to encourage germination. Blue flax self-sows readily, but be careful to limit competition with other plants. Prefers well-drained, sunny soils.

Blue flax brings a delicate and natural touch to your garden. Its bright flowers and ability to self-seed make it an excellent choice for sunny, well-drained areas.
