Fargesia robusta Formidable 10 Ltr pot

Fargesia robusta ‘Formidable’ is an elegant, clump-forming, non-invasive bamboo valued for creating dense, upright screens and sheltered boundaries. An evergreen with fine green foliage, it thrives in sun or light shade and prefers fertile, moisture-retentive but well-drained soil. Ideal for structured screening or as a living backdrop in planting schemes, it forms tight clumps rather than running. In time, expect an approximate mature height of around 4m and a spread of about 2m, making it a strong choice for medium to tall screening hedges.

Feeding time: Spring (apply a balanced general-purpose feed) Trimming time: Spring for thinning out old or weak canes; light shaping in late spring to early summer once new shoots have firmed

To help give a clear sense of scale, the stone wall shown in our photos measures approximately 265cm in height. We also use familiar garden tools as visual references: a digging fork (110cm tall) and a hand fork (30cm tall). These are included purely as size guides to help you better judge proportions when viewing the images.
