Verbena ‘Grandiflora’ mix (Verbena hybrida), offered by Weston Seeds

Verbena ‘Grandiflora’ is a striking, extra early flowering annual with a compact, uniform habit. This mix offers a striking array of colours that cover the low-growing plants in flowers throughout the summer. Ideal for borders, containers and beds, this plant is easy to grow and adapts equally well to sunny or partially shaded areas.

Plant Type: Annual
Height: 5 to 6 inches
Spacing: 10 to 14 inches
Sowing: Indoor/direct
Exposure: Full sun/partial shade
Quantity per pack: Untreated, GMO-free seeds

Cultivation method:

Sow directly outdoors after all risk of frost for flowering in 6-8 weeks from sowing. For an earlier start, sow indoors in early April. Gently press seeds into the soil without covering. Maintain a temperature of 20C (70F) for germination in 5-10 days. Grow seedlings under artificial light, then harden off before transplanting outdoors in late May, spacing plants 10cm (4″) apart in the garden.

Verbena ‘Grandiflora’ prefers well-drained soil. It thrives in full sun in cool summer areas and in partial shade (4 to 6 hours of sun) in hot summer areas. After the first bloom, lightly shearing the plants will stimulate a second flush of flowers, extending their summer splendor.

Prized for its vibrant colors and ease of growing, ‘Grandiflora’ verbena is a perfect choice to brighten up your garden or planters all season long!
