Product Description Netafim Air Vacuum Valve 1/2″Flushing Valve Optimize System Performance. Helps reduce maintenance and increase dripper line performance. Air/Vacuum relief valve freely allows air into a zone after shut down. It also ensures a vacuum within non Anti Siphon dripperline system doesnt suck debris or dirt back in to the dripperline. It also provides a means of releasing air from the dripperline when the zone is turned on, eliminating air pockets and speeding up the dripperline operation. Install Air/Vacuum Relief Valve at the highest point in the drip system. Install one Air/Vacuum Relief Valve for every 40lts/min of zone flow. Applications; Drip irrigation systems Clean or dirty water Specifications; Flushing water volume: approx. 1 gallon per cycle Maximum zone flow rate per Flush Valve: 15 GPM As irrigation starts, valve flushes out dirt particles Minimum pressure required: 1.5 psi in the open position. Maximum pressure: 57 psi Features/Benefits; Flushing reduces sediment build-up Automatic cleaning operation at start of each irrigation cycle Unique design reacts to flow, not pressure, allowing operation even at full line pressure Can be disassembled to allow for winterization “blowout” Normally open – full opening at the beginning of irrigation cycle. Flushing- while pressure builds up in lateral, water velocity flushes the debris out through opening. Closing – small quantity of water flows into upper chamber, causing diaphragm to seal openings. It remains sealed until irrigation cycle ends, then the diaphragm gradually opens again. **You will need a Female Compression Tee 16mm-1/2″-16mm per valve** WHY USE AN AIR VALVE The two main reasons for an air release valve are: 1. A means of releasing air from the drip line when the system is turned on. Eliminating any air pockets. 2. To allow air to freely enter the system when it is shut down. This ensures a vacuum does not draw debris into the drip line via the dripper outlets. This condition is known as suck back. Suck back can cause the drip line to collapse or potentially draw in dirt and block the dripper. Click for Product Brochure
