Pellionia repens, often referred to as the “Trailing Watermelon Begonia,” is a captivating vine known for its begonia-like asymmetrical leaf growth and deep watermelon rind colours. Contrary to its name, it’s neither a begonia nor a watermelon. This vine, native to Southeast Asia, boasts a variety of colours and leaf shapes as it matures. Its dark, lance-shaped leaves with creamy mint green centers offer a striking contrast, making it a favourite among plant enthusiasts. Whether in a terrarium or as a houseplant, its lush foliage and rich green, red, and purple colours make it a standout.
