Salix purpurea Nancy Saunders is a compact, elegant willow valued for its fine, silvery blue-green leaves and striking deep red stems. In early spring, it produces small, pinkish-silver catkins that add seasonal charm. Perfect for smaller gardens, it can be cut back annually to maintain a neat form and encourage vibrant new stem growth, or left occasionally to enjoy its catkin display.

This hardy shrub brings year-round interest and graceful structure to borders, wildlife gardens, waterside plantings, or as a feature plant. Ideal for adding texture, colour, and movement to the landscape in all seasons.

Catkins in early spring (if left unpruned). Grows best in moist, well-drained soil and full sun to partial shade. Height & spread: 4m x 4m (13′ x 13′).
