Salvia confertiflora is a bold, architectural perennial, bearing a dramatic display of velvety, brick-red flower spikes borne on rich red stems. The vivid flowers rise above large, textured, mid-green leaves, creating a striking contrast and long-lasting seasonal interest from midsummer into autumn and is highly attractive to pollinators.

This half-hardy Salvia is ideal for adding height and colour to mixed or exotic-style borders. Regular deadheading prolongs flowering, while an annual mulch will support vigorous growth. In colder regions, provide frost protection or overwinter indoors.

June – October flowering. Thrives in a sunny, sheltered position in well-drained soil. Height & spread: 1.5m x 0.5m (59″ x 20″).
