Sarracenia Barba Green, is a compact pitcher plant that quickly develops into a dense clump of upright traps. It is associated with Sarracenia chelsonii parentage, involving S. rubra and S. purpurea, with the broad, flared pitcher hoods showing a noticeable influence from S. Purpurea. Its tubular pitchers typically reach 1220 inches tall and are prized for their vivid lime to fluorescent green colouring. Smooth sides, light veining, and wide lids give the traps a clean, fresh appearance that remains striking under strong light. In mid to late spring, mature plants may produce a nodding chartreuse to yellow green flower on a tall stalk above the emerging pitchers.
