Bring the charm of a countryside distillery to your garden with the Smart Garden Whisky Barrels Cascade, a solar-powered cascading water feature from the Solar Water Features range. Crafted from lightweight polyresin with a realistic weathered wood finish, this three-tier barrel cascade creates a gentle, soothing flow of water that recirculates continuously powered entirely by the sun.

Ideal for placing on patios, decking, or tucked into a sheltered corner of a courtyard garden, this cascade adds a calming focal point to any outdoor space. The compact footprint suits smaller UK gardens and balconies, whilst the rustic barrel design blends naturally with planted borders, gravel areas, and cottage-style settings.

Powered by a separate solar panel connected via a discreet cable, you can position the panel in full sunlight whilst placing the feature in partial shade giving you flexibility over where the cascade sits. The integrated pump recirculates water from the base reservoir, so there is no need for a mains water connection or electricity supply. Simply fill, position the panel, and enjoy.

Frequently Asked Questions

Does this water feature work on cloudy days?
The pump operates in direct sunlight, so flow will reduce or stop on heavily overcast days. Positioning the remote solar panel in the brightest available spot will maximise performance. On partly cloudy days, the pump will cycle on and off as sunlight comes and goes.

Do I need to connect it to a mains water supply?
No. The Whisky Barrels Cascade recirculates water from its own built-in reservoir. Simply fill the base with water and the pump does the rest. You will need to top up occasionally as water evaporates, especially in warm weather.

Is this water feature frost-resistant?
Polyresin is more resilient than ceramic or terracotta, but for best results we recommend draining the water and storing the feature in a sheltered spot (such as a garage or shed) over winter to prevent frost damage to the pump and reservoir.

How heavy is it when filled with water?
The feature itself weighs approximately 3.5 kg empty. Filled weight will depend on the reservoir capacity, but the compact design means it remains manageable for repositioning.

Can I use this indoors?
Whilst designed primarily for outdoor use, this cascade can be placed indoors on a waterproof surface. Ensure the solar panel can be routed to a sunny windowsill or used with a compatible solar battery pack for consistent operation.

*To ensure the best experience, we recommend positioning the solar panel in a bright, unobstructed location where it can receive maximum sunlight throughout the day*
