Gardener’s Notes:Sow seeds 3-4 inches apart into fertile, well-drained soil after frost danger is over and temperatures are warmed above 50F (10C). Or, in cold climates, start seeds indoors 4-6 weeks before last frost and transplant. Thin established seedlings to final spacing 8-10 inches apart. Water consistently to maintain soil moisture, keeping water off the leaves to prevent mildew. For longest vase life, pick flower with long stems when blossoms first open and petals are tight.
